Instructions

1. Make the Donut Dough

  • In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Add the melted butter, egg, vanilla, and yeast mixture. Stir until combined.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

2. Make the Strawberry Cheesecake Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Fold in the diced strawberries and heavy cream, mixing until creamy.
  • Transfer the filling to a piping bag fitted with a small round tip.

3. Roll & Cut the Dough

  • Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about ½-inch thickness.
  • Use a round cutter (about 3 inches wide) to cut out circles.
  • Transfer the dough rounds to a baking sheet, cover, and let rest for 10-15 minutes.

4. Fry the Donuts (or Bake!)

Option 1: Frying Method (Classic & Crispy)

  • Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry 2-3 donuts at a time, flipping after 30-40 seconds per side until golden brown.
  • Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Arrange donuts on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
