  • Author: Luna
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Mushroom Topping:

  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced (button, cremini, or a mix)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 teaspoon fresh thyme)
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional, for extra depth)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

For the Bruschetta Base:

  • 1 baguette or Italian bread, sliced into ½-inch thick pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, halved (for rubbing)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.
  3. Bake for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bread is golden and crisp.
  4. While still warm, rub the toasted bread with the halved garlic clove for extra flavor.

Step 2: Cook the Mushrooms

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until the mushrooms are soft and fragrant.
  4. If using balsamic vinegar, add it now and cook for 1 more minute to enhance the flavors.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley.

Step 3: Assemble the Bruschetta

  1. Spoon the mushroom mixture evenly onto each toasted bread slice.
  2. Drizzle with extra olive oil or balsamic glaze if desired.
  3. Serve immediately while warm.
