Ingredients
For the Biscuits:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¾ cup whole milk
- ½ tsp dried parsley (optional, for garnish)
For the Garlic Butter Topping:
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp dried parsley
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with nonstick spray.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt. This ensures that the dry ingredients are evenly distributed, preventing any clumps.
Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. This step helps create a flaky biscuit texture.
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, making sure it’s evenly mixed throughout the flour mixture.
Pour in the milk and gently stir until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix—this will keep the biscuits light and tender. If the dough seems too sticky, add a little more flour.
Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, forming roughly 2-inch mounds. You don’t need to shape them perfectly—rustic, drop-style biscuits work best for this recipe.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
While the biscuits are baking, melt the butter and mix it with garlic powder and dried parsley.
As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, brush them generously with the garlic butter topping while they’re still warm. This adds an extra layer of flavor and makes them even more irresistible.
Serve immediately while warm, and enjoy your homemade Copycat Red Lobster Biscuits with your favorite meal!
