- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Optional toppings: powdered sugar, chocolate drizzle, caramel sauce
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough and Filling
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
- Add ½ cup of sugar, the egg, and vanilla extract.
- Mix until fully incorporated and smooth.
2. Layer the Bottom Crust
- Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the baking dish.
- Pinch the seams together to create a uniform base.
- Sprinkle a light layer of cinnamon-sugar (about 1 tablespoon mixture) over the dough.
3. Add the Cheesecake Filling
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the dough layer.
- Spread it evenly with a spatula to cover the entire surface.
- Smooth out the top for a consistent filling layer.
4. Add the Top Dough Layer
- Unroll the second can of crescent dough and carefully lay it on top of the cheesecake layer.
- Gently press the dough to cover without disturbing the filling.
- Seal any seams if needed for an even top crust.
5. Add Cinnamon-Sugar Topping
- Mix the remaining ½ cup sugar with cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Brush the top dough with melted butter using a pastry brush.
- Generously sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered dough.
6. Bake the Bars
- Place the dish in the preheated oven.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and slightly crisp.
- The cheesecake filling should be set but slightly jiggly in the center.
7. Cool and Slice
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours for clean cuts and best texture.
- Slice into 12 even bars using a sharp knife.
8. Serve and Garnish
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
