Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Carrots
- Wash, peel, and slice the carrots into rounds or sticks, depending on your preference.
Step 2: Sauté the Carrots
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter.
- Once the butter is melted, add the carrots and sauté for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 3: Add Sweetener and Seasoning
- Sprinkle the brown sugar over the carrots and drizzle with honey or maple syrup if using.
- Add salt, black pepper, and cinnamon (if using). Stir well to coat all the carrots in the glaze.
Step 4: Caramelize the Carrots
- Continue cooking for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the carrots are tender and slightly caramelized.
- If needed, add a splash of water to prevent burning while ensuring a glossy glaze.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh thyme or parsley for added color and flavor.
