Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Melt the chocolate and butter
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, add the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.
- Stir continuously until the chocolate and butter are fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Be careful not to overheat the mixture; low and slow is best to prevent burning.
2. Add vanilla extract
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Mix well to ensure the flavor is evenly distributed throughout the fudge.
3. Pour and smooth the mixture
- Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving a little overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the pan and spread it evenly with a spatula to smooth the top.
4. Chill until firm
- Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours or until the fudge is completely set.
- Once set, lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment overhang and cut into squares.
