For the Rice:

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (Jasmine or Basmati works best)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

For the Creamy Parmesan Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Chicken

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the chicken pieces with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Rice

  1. In the same pan, melt 1 tablespoon butter and add the uncooked rice. Stir for 1-2 minutes until slightly toasted.
  2. Pour in the chicken broth, salt, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook for 15 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed all the liquid.

Step 3: Make the Creamy Parmesan Sauce

  1. Once the rice is cooked, melt the remaining butter in the skillet.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly.
  4. Reduce heat to low and mix in the Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth and creamy.

Step 4: Combine Everything

  1. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to coat with the creamy sauce.
  2. Let everything simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

  1. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for color and extra freshness.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy!
