- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Chicken
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the chicken pieces with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Rice
- In the same pan, melt 1 tablespoon butter and add the uncooked rice. Stir for 1-2 minutes until slightly toasted.
- Pour in the chicken broth, salt, and Italian seasoning.
- Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook for 15 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed all the liquid.
Step 3: Make the Creamy Parmesan Sauce
- Once the rice is cooked, melt the remaining butter in the skillet.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat to low and mix in the Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth and creamy.
Step 4: Combine Everything
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to coat with the creamy sauce.
- Let everything simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
- Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for color and extra freshness.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
